General Employee builds AI employees for service businesses. Our product answers calls, texts, and emails, books appointments, follows up with leads, and works inside the software a business already uses.

We are a small, founder-led team shipping into live customer workflows where reliability, judgment, and measurable outcomes matter more than impressive demos.

This is not a catch-all vacancy. It is an invitation for an exceptional builder, operator, customer problem solver, or growth generalist who can make a specific case for a role that should exist at General Employee.

We will create a role when a candidate's strengths meet an important company need and there is a clear outcome for that person to own.

What you might own

• A product or engineering problem that is currently limiting how quickly we can ship or learn.
• Agent quality, evaluation, or operational systems that make customer deployments more reliable.
• Customer launches and workflow design for a service-business category you understand deeply.
• A vertical integration that unlocks a valuable end-to-end job for our AI employees.
• A growth, distribution, or partnership motion with a measurable path to customers and revenue.
• A cross-functional zero-to-one problem where you can create both the plan and the operating system.

What success looks like

• We can define a role around an important company need and a measurable outcome you are unusually well suited to own.
• Your first 90 days have a concrete result rather than a broad mandate to help wherever needed.
• Your work creates durable leverage for the product, customers, or go-to-market system.

What we're looking for

• Clear evidence that you have shipped, operated, sold, or owned meaningful work before.
• A specific view of the problem you would solve here, why it matters now, and why you are equipped to own it.
• The ability to move between strategy and execution without waiting for a large team or a perfectly defined brief.
• Strong judgment, direct communication, and comfort being accountable for an outcome.
• An AI-native working style that increases your leverage without weakening your standards.

How we work

AI is part of our daily workflow. We use coding, design, and research agents to move quickly, but we own the judgment, verification, and production outcome. You will work directly with the founder and customers, have broad autonomy, and carry work from an ambiguous problem to a deployed result.
